Hello Temple Beth Shalom Members and Friends, our Rabbi Herzfeld is back with us and we are moving into the High Holidays! We are looking forward to having you with us to welcome Rabbi Herzfeld back and to launch our meaningful schedule of High Holiday activities.
Shabbat begins this week on Friday, September 27 at 7:30 with a traditional Shabbat service with Rabbi Herzfeld that is ZOOM ONLY. It is getting dark earlier again, and we may be still having some weather from the tropical storm/hurricane, so Zoom is a great opportunity! We will have the portal open early so we can get together to kibitz and schmooze.
Then the next evening on Saturday, September 28 we all return to the temple building for a delicious lasagna dinner to welcome in Selichot and to welcome back Rabbi Herzfeld. Dinner is at 6:00 pm. After dinner Rabbi has his annual, educational Selichot presentation followed by Havdalah, a brief and lovely Selichot service, and ending with the first sounding of the shofar of the season.
That is all too lovely to miss, but if you can’t be with us physically, you can always be with us virtually, and in spirit! Please contact us if you want the Zoom link.

Hello Temple Beth Shalom Members and Friends! Shabbat always comes, and we have another opportunity to worship, learn, talk, and of course eat together! Shabbat begins this Friday, November 22 at 7:30 pm with a traditional service led by Rabbi Herzfeld and with Meryl Crews cantorial accompaniment. The service will be held at our synagogue and simultaneously on Zoom. The next morning, Saturday November 23 at 9:30 we have Torah Study, which is always fun and illuminating. Rabbi Herzfeld will teach us on Zoom to a group at the synagogue building, where we will enjoy a light brunch. If you’re unable to come to our site in Winter Haven for either event, contact us for the Zoom link.
