Shana Tovah Temple Beth Shalom Congregation!  After a great deal of patience and effort, the 2024 Directory is available.  Copies will be printed for you to pick up at the synagogue building.  Many thanks to the following:

  • Our media Editor and President, Lorraine Mixter, for coordinating all of the contributors and following this project through to completion.
  • Lorraine Mixter, Rabbi Herzfeld, and Past President Joseph Rodriguez for contributing pieces of writing,
  • All of the members and business owners who submitted ads.

Hurricane Milton

Dear Temple Beth Shalom Members and Friends, after the first year of remembrance of October 7, now our minds are on Hurricane Milton advancing toward our community.  Our love and concern is with you as you evacuate to a safer area or prepare your home to wait out the storm.  With Yom Kippur approaching, the Jewish principle of pikuach nefesh applies — the priority is for your safety and well-being and that of your loved ones.  We wish for you:

 
  • That all of us come through the storm safe and well,
  • That any damage to your homes and our synagogue building is minimal,
  • That you do not lose electricity and other essentials, and if you do; it is only for a short time,
  • And that we can come together again soon.

 Be on the lookout for any updates about Yom Kippur services in the next 24 hours.  Wishing you shalom.

Hello Temple Beth Shalom Members and Friends, here is the last Chai Lites of the Summer season with valuable information about the High Holiday schedule and activities, as well as our other programs for you to engage.  Our talented Editor and President, Lorraine Mixter, included the Calendar for the next two months so you can plan ahead, get involved, and support your synagogue and your community!  Many thanks also to our regular columnists and contributors.  Thank you all who led services and activities during the Summer, and are putting a hand in to give us a meaningful High Holiday Season!

Hello Temple Beth Shalom Members and Friends, welcome to June and a new issue of the Chai Lites!  It is lovely with photos and stories of what we are all doing together as a congregation and community.  Thanks to all of you who sent in the photos, and to all of you who are in the photos.  🙂    We have one more service (on Zoom June 7) and Torah Study with Rabbi Herzfeld before Summer vacation this season, and after that it’s up to us to continue learning and joining together for a little while.  Many thanks also to our President and Editor, Lorraine Mixter, for pulling it all together!
