Dear Temple Beth Shalom Congregation, we received these words today from our longtime and founding member Barbara Brooks: Our dear friend, Stan Kaplan, passed away last Friday after a long illness. Stan and his wife, Karen, helped establish our temple. Stan was our first president. He and Karen worked tirelessly for many, many years making our temple a success. We are grateful to Stan and the Kaplan family for all they did to build our congregation and create a lasting community. His memory will be a blessing.
Barbara also shared the picture above saved from the Winter Haven News Chief of Stanley with our congregation’s first rabbi, Bradd Boxman, celebrating Temple Beth Shalom’s first High Holiday services.
